Countdown to April 6, 2027 School Board Election
The D113 Caucus will convene in Fall 2026 to evaluate candidates for four open seats on the Township High School District 113 Board of Education. Each elected board member will serve a four-year term. The Caucus will endorse and support up to four candidates.
If you are interested in serving as a delegate to the D113 Caucus, please contact the Caucus by emailing caucus113@gmail.com. Caucus delegate meetings will be held on the following three dates: September 16, 2026 at 7pm, October 8, 2026 at 7pm and November 8, 2026 at 1pm.
If you are interested in running for the School Board and obtaining Caucus endorsement, please notify the Caucus by emailing caucus113@gmail.com no later than October 9, 2026. Completed Caucus Candidate questionnaires must be submitted to the Caucus by November 1, 2026.
Timeline for Caucus Delegates and Candidates:
July/August 2026: Solicitation of potential District 113 Caucus delegates.
Early September 2026: Selection of District 113 Caucus delegate members.
Wednesday, September 16, 2026 - 7pm: First Caucus Delegate Planning Meeting - To review district priorities, caucus and board member responsibilities and bylaws. (Location to be announced soon)
Thursday, October 8, 2026 - 7pm: Second Caucus Delegate Planning Meeting - To discuss the candidate questionnaire and criteria for vetting and endorsing board candidates. (Location to be announced soon)
Friday, October 9, 2026: Candidates for School Board must notify the Caucus by this date to be eligible to seek Caucus endorsement. Contact the Caucus at caucus113@gmail.com.
Sunday, November 1, 2026: Candidates for School Board must return complete Caucus Candidate Questionnaire by this date in order to seek Caucus endorsement. Email completed questionnaires to caucus113@gmail.com.
Sunday, November 8, 2026 - 1pm: Endorsement Meeting - Candidates will make brief presentations and respond to questions from Caucus delegates. Delegates will then vote on candidate endorsements and will also elect Caucus officers for the next election cycle. Note: This meeting may last several hours. Snacks will be provided for attendees. (Location to be announced soon)
November 16-23, 2026: Board Candidates are required to file nominating petitions with the County Clerk (refer to Lake County website for exact dates and requirements).
April 6, 2027: Election Day for District 113 Board of Education members.
